I have had the pleasure and privilege over the years, to play both on old restored four- and five strings from Stefan´s workshop, and now a new Krattenmacher solo model. For me, his work represents an unique and unmatched blend of solidity and elegance. I experience the instruments from Stefans workshop as extremely well balanced and well constructed. Soundwise they project effortless, also in the very extremes of the dynamic scale. Playing on them, I feel encouraged to take risks, and I don´t hesitate to say that his work has made me a better musician. Thank you, Stefan!
